Rebel Foods, a popular cloud kitchen firm backed by Temasek and KKR, has announced its entry into the fast-paced food delivery sector.
The company will be competing with established players like Zomato, Swiggy, and Zepto.
In a LinkedIn post on Friday (February 14), EatSure cofounder and CEO Sagar Kochhar said Rebel Foods has launched its 15-minute food delivery app ‘QuickiES’.

Through QuickiES app, you can order from over 45 of Rebel Foods’ own brands, like Faasos, Wendy’s, and Oven Story Pizza, and get it super fast. They also offer quick snacks like poha and Maggi.
Rebel Foods started in 2011 with just one brand, Faasos. Now, they have many popular online restaurant brands. They’ve received a lot of investment money, about $773 million, from different companies. There were even reports that they might go public (sell shares to the public) soon.
Even though their business is growing, Rebel Foods also reported a loss last year, though it was smaller than the year before.
The quick food delivery market is getting very competitive. Zomato (with Blinkit), Swiggy, and Zepto are all offering similar fast delivery services. These companies are also starting to deliver more than just food, like groceries and other items. Even big online stores like Flipkart and Amazon are joining in. New companies are also popping up and getting funding, like Swish and Zing, which also offer 10-minute food delivery.
After cementing its position in the quick commerce space, Zomato-owned Blinkit launched its 10-minute food delivery app Bistro in December last year. Swiggy and Zepto offer similar services under the brands ‘SNACC’ and ‘Zepto Cafe’, respectively.
Amid the rising popularity of instant delivery services in India, Blinkit, Instamart and Zepto have expanded beyond the grocery category, selling everything from apparel and electronics to jewellery and skincare products.
Taking a leaf out of their playbook, ecommerce giants Flipkart and Amazon have also entered the quick commerce turf. As consumers embrace the convenience of instant delivery of items to their doorsteps, newer startups are also scooping funds.
In November last year, Bengaluru-based 10-minute food delivery startup Swish, which was launched in 2023, raised $2 Mn from Accel. Recently, Zing also launched its 10-minute food delivery service in Delhi NCR.
